July 2009. I’ll start the month with the dreadful events of the July issue of the MAGAZINE, even though most of it happened in June. I could scarcely write it up during the events as you will see.
It started when I was telephoned two days after the whole process should have started, by someone who told me they were still waiting for the copy to arrive, and should they do anything about it? I managed not to say why the **** have you been waiting two days before telling me? And promised to find out where it was.
Then I put the CD of all the advertisements for the month into the computer, so that I could set up everything before the copy arrived - ha,ha - and that was totally empty - there was nothing on it at all, so I couldn’t do that job.
And then I thought I would go down to the Magazine office to pick up the month’s cover, where it is left for me each month. But not this month; the in-tray was completely empty.
